This week, engineers from around the world will gather virtually for Europe’s premiere Elixir conference: ElixirConf EU 2020. Taking place June 18-19, 2020, the conference will offer a forum for sharing new ideas while showcasing the great work companies and individuals are currently doing to advance Elixir development.

One of the many great things about this conference? All are welcome — from long-time Elixir evangelists to those who may be new to the community. We’re thrilled to be leading various sessions as part of this virtual event to share our passion for and learnings from our extensive work using Elixir to build next-gen web applications.

Be sure to join the following DockYard sessions as part of ElixirConf EU’s engaging agenda:

Thursday, June 18 at 3:40 p.m. CEST | The Lumen Core Team presents Ask Me Anything: Lumen
Lumen is a new compiler and runtime for BEAM languages. While it primarily targets browsers through WebAssembly, it can also produce efficient static binaries for easy deployment to servers.

Join this Q&A session for an opportunity to ask the Lumen Core Team questions about their work and hear what’s next for Lumen.

Thursday, June 18 at 4:05 p.m. CEST | Architectural Engineer Hans Elias B. Josephsen presents Introducing Lumen and Eir
Immediately following the Lumen Q&A session, Core Team member and Architectural Engineer Hans Elias B. Josephsen will provide a more in-depth introduction to the Lumen project with particular focus on the compiler.

He will also offer an overview of Eir, the compiler front- and middle-end for Lumen.

Thursday, June 18 at 4:50 p.m. CEST | Senior Software Engineer Michael Crumm presents Enter Phoenix LiveDashboard
The Phoenix framework provides “peace of mind from prototype to production,” but how can you truly ensure that peace of mind once you deploy your app to your production environment? Enter Phoenix LiveDashboard: a package providing real-time, web-based performance monitoring for your Phoenix applications.

Join Phoenix Core Team member Michael Crumm as he shares his experiences building LiveDashboard, including some of the challenges in creating the first LiveView plugin, the advantages of distributed teams, and the joy of building tools for the Phoenix/Elixir ecosystem.

Friday, June 19 at 9:00 a.m. CEST | Architectural Engineer and Creator of Phoenix Chris McCord presents What’s New in LiveView
In this session from the creator of the Phoenix framework Chris McCord, attendees will receive an update on what’s new for LiveView — an exciting way to build interactive, real-time web applications in Elixir, writing little or no custom JavaScript.

LiveView has experienced a flurry of new features and releases this year. Join Chris for a tour of these new features — big and small — to highlight relatively unknown additions while exploring how LiveView continues to blaze a trail in this new server-rendered interactive landscape.

The team is looking forward to joining the Elixir community for this event to discuss what’s new and next for Elixir.
